About this Locality

Mdina is the oldest village in Malta, tracing back around 4000 years. Back in 60 A.D. when St. Paul shipwrecked in Malta he resided in the village of Mdina. The impressive palaces found in Mdina belong to many royal families that used to live in these properties and have descended within the family. Mdina used to be the capital city of Malta before Valletta was officially made capital Malta’s capital city. Mdina is the perfect example of a historical city mainly due to it’s ancient walls and mix of medieval and baroque architecture.
